Meet the Robinsons is an animated movie from the Disney behemoth about a boy’s quest to find a family and the adventures he encounters.
The main character is Lewis, a geeky kid who loves to invent stuff. He lives in an orphanage with his roommate Goob, who’s a baseball fanatic and is always bleary-eyed because of Lewis’ late-night experiments and inventions.
Lewis, wanting to find his birth mother, decides to invent a brain-scanner and to showcase it at his science fair. He meets an older boy, who he later discovers is Wilbur Robinson. Wilbur tells Lewis that he’s a secret agent and that he should be careful of the the “bowler hat guy”. The “bowler hat guy” has a bowler hat that is a robot and he has evil designs on Lewis’ inventions.
How Lewis and Wilbur team up and whether they can foil the “bowler hat guy” is the rest of the story in a nutshell. The movie is interesting, funny at times, and is good, light entertainment.
Credit to the script-writers and the rest of the team for coming up with interesting characters and for creating a movie that’s fun and different. Meet the Robinsons not as good as The Incredibles but it’s a good movie nonetheless.
