Cindy Sheehan, who lost her son Casey in Iraq and became an anti-war activist, quit a couple of days ago as the face of the anti-war movement in America. Amy Goodman interviewed her and the transcript of the interview is on Alternet.
It’s an interesting interview in which Ms. Sheehan talks about her decision, how her son’s death and her activism impacted her, her relationships, and even her health. Her life as an activist has not been without controversy–she’s been vilified by some people and glorified by others, and it’s a difficult situation for anyone to be in.
The interview’s long, but worth reading because it’s insightful, if sometimes sad. Read Cindy Sheehan Steps Down as the Face of the Antiwar Movement on Alternet.
